July & August 2007

Grand Knight’s Message – Brothers, I would like to thank and congratulate the outgoing officers and welcome the new officers. A special thanks goes to Bill Tanzosh for his years of dedication and time spent as our Grand Knight. I am looking forward to working with everyone to keep our council active and busy. I have asked Terry Dunne to be Chairman of the Baptism Committee and he has accepted. Terry will be responsible for recruiting volunteers for the presentation of the rose and rosary to the new mothers at Holy Family Church. I am hoping to establish a few more responsible positions of that order to keep members involved. One of the reasons I joined the Knights was to become active in the organization and be of service to the Church community. ( The social time after the meetings is great too.) Remember to ask a friend to join the Knights. Thank you and God Bless.       GK John Kelly

Fraternal Report – Kindly remember in your prayers those Brother Knights and their family members who are ill and/or recuperating at home or in the hospital especially Judy Tanzosh, wife of PGK Bill Tanzosh and Loretta Fry, wife of Brother Knight Charlie Fry. Also, please continue to remember and pray for the souls of the deceased members and their families especially Brother Knight Dominic J. Ferraro. Remember, one of the most important ways Knights support each other is through prayer, especially at times of illness or death. Anyone knowing of a member of this council or a council member’s family who is sick or in need of assistance should contact any council officer.

Membership – At the August meeting new membership applications were read and approved for Ron Tscillo and Floyd Czaro and transfer applications were approved for Deacon Joe Pufko and David Pozca. Anyone knowing of a prospective new member should contact Membership Chairman Russ Ayers at 610-759-6464.

Rose and Rosary Presentations – Monthly presentations of a rose, Rosary and Rosary ring to the mothers of infants being baptized are held at both Holy Family and Sacred Heart, Bath. Volunteers are always welcome to conduct or assist in conducting the presentations.

Insurance News– Our K of C Insurance field representative is Bruce J. Micciulla, who reminds all Brother Knights that while the hot weather during the “lazy days of Summer” may encourage a slower paced life. However, in many ways, summer can be the busiest time of the year; especially for parents with school-aged children. And being busy, it’s easy to forget about such things as reviewing your life insurance coverage.

Bruce will happily provide all Brother Knights with a no-obligation family needs analysis. Contact Bruce at 610-905-4109 or at bruce@micciulla.com. You might also want to check out Bruce’s blog at www.catholicvoice.blogspot.com.

Birthday Correction - Sorry for omitting Brother Knight William T. Serencsits birth date of 7/23 from the July listing. The official roster from Supreme Council has the wrong date. Note: any time you spot an error, especially in name spelling or dates, please notify the Grand Knight. This might signify an error in official Supreme Council records and could possibly result problems when trying to claim benefits if not corrected now.

Knights of Columbus Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30 PM in Holy Family Parish’s Wortman Center. All members are encouraged to attend. After each meeting there is an opportunity for excellent refreshments and fellowship with your brother Knights. Plan to stop in and check it out next month. Also remember that, if conditions are such that you are unable to attend meetings, you can still aid the council by volunteering to participate in any of the various activities which the council conducts. We need you!
