July 2008

Grand Knight’s Message – Summer time is here and it's time for vacations. This month it's also time for a few activities. We have Nazareth Day on July 19, rain date July 20. I hope you can spare us a couple hours of your time at our spin art and sand art stand. The morning is fairly well staffed but we need more volunteers for the afternoon. In the past we have been wrapping things up around three or four o'clock. We will need help breaking down the stand and carting things back to where they belong.

The Church picnic is July 25 through July 27. We will be staffing two shifts each day, 5 to 8 and 8 to closing. We need at least 3 people per shift.
The July meeting was light in membership turnout so we were not able to fill many volunteer spots. Again, please try and help us out as much as you can
Officers who received call lists at the last meeting, please make calls and see if you can get volunteers.

C.O.A.L. tickets are now available. We will be sending some with the news letter and also selling them at the church picnic. I will also be picking up the football tickets and we can sell them at the picnic also.
Please remember to keep our sick fellow brothers and their family members in your prayers. Have a great summer and enjoy the hot, humid weather

God Bless,

John Kelly, G.K.

Fraternal Report – Kindly remember in your prayers those Brother Knights and their family members who are ill and/or recuperating at home or in the hospital. Also, please continue to remember and pray for the souls of the deceased members and their families. Remember, one of the most important ways Knights support each other is through prayer, especially at times of illness or death. Anyone knowing of a member of this council or a council member’s family who is sick or in need of assistance should contact any council officer.

Membership – Anyone knowing of a prospective new member should contact Membership Chairman PGK Bill Tanzosh at 610-759-3161.

Rose and Rosary Presentations – Monthly presentations of a rose, Rosary and Rosary ring to the mothers of infants being baptized are held at  Holy Family. Volunteers are always welcome to conduct or assist in conducting the presentations. Call Terry Dunne at 610-746-2676

Insurance News– Our K of C Insurance field representative is John J. Matusel, who reminds all Brother Knights that the more things change the more they stay the same. This maxim certainly holds true with life insurance planning. If someone earns an income to support a family, family-income protection through life insurance is of utmost importance. John will happily provide all Brother Knights with a no-obligation family needs analysis. Contact 570-654-3380.
