February 2008

Grand Knight’s Message – Brother Knights, it is time for our Lenten Fish Feasts. I need as much help as possible to make this a successful fundraiser to help support our Seminarians. We will need people to serve food and bus tables. The Boy Scouts will not be able to help us on February 15th as they will be taking part in a winter campout. Jennie Spinozzi has agreed to put together some baskets for a raffle IF WE GO OUT AND GET THE DONATIONS. If you know of someone with a business who can donate an item or a gift certificate, please ASK them. As Jennie says, “The hardest part is asking, it’s amazing what people are willing to do if you ASK them.” Check the advertisers in our Sunday bulletin, they may be able to help us. In the past, we’ve raffled baskets of cheer that included wine, liquors and crackers. Could you donate a bottle of your favorite? I need your support in this endeavor, please try and help out your Council. We will also be selling tickets for the Fish Feasts before and after Masses for the next few weeks. If you can help with the sales, please get in touch with me. I will also be available to pick up any donations you can gather or can bring them to the next meeting or give them to any of the Knights selling tickets at the Masses. Thank you and God Bless ------ G. K. John Kelly.

Fraternal Report – Kindly remember in your prayers those Brother Knights and their family members who are ill and/or recuperating at home or in the hospital especially Judy Tanzosh, wife of PGK Bill Tanzosh. Also, please continue to remember and pray for the souls of the deceased members and their families. Remember that one of the most important ways Knights support each other is through prayer, especially at times of illness or death. Anyone knowing of a member of this council or a council member’s family who is sick or in need of assistance should contact any council officer.

Membership – At the February meeting, new member applications were read and approved for John A. Cirillo and James P. Flannery. Anyone knowing of a prospective new member should contact Membership Chairman PGK Bill Tanzosh at 610-759-3161.

Rose and Rosary Presentations – Monthly presentations of a rose, Rosary and Rosary ring to the mothers of infants being baptized are held at both Holy Family and Sacred Heart, Bath. Volunteers are always welcome to conduct or assist in conducting the presentations. To volunteer at Holy Family call Terry Dunne at 610-746-2676

Knights of Columbus Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30 PM in Holy Family Parish’s Wortman Center. All members are encouraged to attend. After each meeting there is an opportunity for excellent refreshments and fellowship with your brother Knights. Plan to stop in and check it out next month. Also remember that, if conditions are such that you are unable to attend meetings, you can still aid the council by volunteering to participate in any of the various activities which the council conducts. We need you!
